Michael's New Toy

Ta-Da! Michael's new hobbie is RC cars, or trucks to be specific. We broke in the engine this weekend. The little bugger can accelerate to 60 mph in seconds!

Storm Watch March 2008

A tornado in downtown Atlanta? The aftermath of the storm really hit the venues hard, but luckily, not alot of people live downtown and no deaths were reported. We got hit with the second wave today, with golf-ball sized hail and heavy rains. With most of our mulch washed away into our neighbor's yard and into the creek, as well as the newly formed stream path formed from the heavy rains, we're not sure if our newly sodded lawn will recover. Oh yeah, and the landscaping company fertilized the lawn this morning just before the torrential downpour - what were they thinking? We snapped a few shots during the storm, and fortunately we didn't see circling, rotating winds.

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Hopefully all our friends and family will get to spend the holiday with their loved ones and give thanks for everything and everyone we've all been blessed with!

The Fu Clan is meeting up at my cousin Daniel and his wife Jessica's new home, along with 30 other friends. I'm not sure how they're going to fit that many people in their townhouse, so this will be interesting. Daniel actually sent out an aerial photo with designated parking areas outlined in blue, so atleast he's got that covered.

Safe travels for those of you going out-of-town!

Speaking of Popping One Out

Big honkin deal. It's the year of the GOLDEN pig, as jliaw so eloquently put it. So why do my relatives have to bring up the baby topic at EVERY family get-together? It is so annoying!

I went to dinner with my family by myself again, without my significant other, because he manages to always have a good excuse for not coming (MBA study group, conference call with India, he's in California, yadayadayada...). My cousin who's a year older than me just gave birth to her second child 2 weeks ago. She started popping them out within a year of getting married. She's also the first in our generation to start having kids, so you'd think that she'd have me covered for at least 2 years, but no, the comments continue to flow like a leaky faucet.

Now that my brother and my cousin are married, they get to share in the wealth of baby comments, so in a way, I'm glad I'm not the only one getting the brunt of it from the relatives, but if I hear them say my parents want to be grand parents again, I think I'm gonna recluse myself from future family functions.

It's not that I don't want children, but it's a life-changing event that I would like to do on my own time, and I could do without the constant nagging. My brother's come-back today was "kids cost money", but then that was shot down when his mother-in-law practically begged to give them money to have a child! Geez.

Four weddings and counting in 2007

The wedding announcement of our good friends Frank and Sharon makes 4 weddings this year. I guess the Year of the Dog IS a lucky year for getting married and having a baby....wait, did I say that? I rather enjoy being TINK - Two-income-no-kids - right now, so stop jumping to conclusions, although....

The following couples have gotten hitched or are about to take the plunge:

Matthew and Kirby - March 2007
Ben and Moe - June 2007
Daniel and Jessica - June 2007
Frank and Sharon - October 2007

Who's next? Check out Frank and Sharon's Wedding Blog.
