W&G: Curse of the Were Rabbit

We saw this cute film this weekend at the new Atlantic Station theatre. The perks? Free popcorn and soda and a 20-minute film about the Madagascar Penguins (from the film Madagascar) before the movie. Without giving away any spoilers, just know that the movie involves lots of cute bunnies and a vacuum-like device. We then spent a long day of walking around IKEA. We enjoyed Swedish meat balls at the IKEA cafeteria and bought a bunch of lamp fixtures. When I tried to take a photo of one of them, I broke it and it shattered to pieces when placing it on the counter. Darn!

Back to School

The Hubby is thinking about going back to school to get an MBA. Looks like it might be Emory. Why not Tech, you say? He says "Because Tech doesn't offer a real MBA." Funny thing is, I almost went to Emory, but I didn't want to put my parents in debt. If I had gone to Emory, I would not have met Michael, I would definitely not be an engineer today, and I would have been a pathologist making a lot of dough. Oh well, things happen for a reason and we don't make life altering choices without a purpose.

The BC YP Retreat was a blast and I feel like I've made over 20 new friends. There were people from Nashville, Charlotte, Orlando, and ofcourse Atlanta. I got to Dawsonville in 40 minutes - yes, THAT is how far I live!

We stayed at the Forrest Hills Resort just north of Dahlonega. The weather was so nice and the leaves were starting to change. During breaks I played frisbee with the Nashville guys.

We had a bon fire and roasted marshmellows to make smores the first night. Unfortunately, Beka and I had too many sweets and couldn't sleep. We ended up talking til 2am! Just like the college days. Waking up at 6am was no easy task!
We had a long day of seminars on BC as the Company of Choice and Plan to Win. Frank threw candy at us for answering his questions and we got to take a personality test, which reminded me of those magazine surveys I use to do in high school.

On Friday night, we went to Helen, GA for Oktoberfest on a charter bus. We went to the Helen Festhalle and drank beer. There was Polka Dancing, Phil F. doing the electric slide, Beka doing the mamba train, and Ryan doing the Chicken Dance.

A couple of guys bought souvenier beer mugs. Eric bought a stuffed animal hat. He said it was the best $12 he'd spent. We took our last group photo in our blue shirts in front of the cabin.

Finding your Strengths

So I took the online survey that defines your top 5 strengths. Mine are:

Includer
Responsibility
Achiever
Harmony
Positivity

I think those traits are pretty accurate. There are 34 possible strengths that may apply, so there's a good chance that at least one trait fits you. Seannibal, get yourself a book so you can take the survey.

Welcome to Brain Freeze

My first entry! Against my hubby's advice not to start a blog, I'm doing it gosh darn it! He thinks I won't have anything to blog...well I'll show him!

This weekend is the big YP Retreat in Dahlonega. The MPs are a little jealous I think - jealous of what? Reading a book about finding your strengths and doing an online survey? Technically, I've probably graduated from the YPs, but if it means I'm still "young" than so be it.
