Year of the Dog - Woof Woof!

Happy Chinese New Year! There was a big article in the AJC this past weekend on the holiday. I was surprised to see that there was interest in Chinese culture. Supposedly the Year of the Dog is a lucky year for marriages and just by circumstance, a friend of mine if getting married this weekend. The reception also happens to be at the same Chinese restaurant mine was at. I used to like Chinese New Year because we would get the red envelopes with money, but the rule is that once you're married, you don't get those anymore :(

We managed to get a better pic of Snowball. Michael had to get her attention with a piece of pizza crust so she would stay still enough for a photo.

Introducing Snowball

Michael was so bummed when Minnie died last month that we had to get another hamster. So today, we adopted another dwarf hamster. I think this one's a Winter White dwarf hamster because it's lighter in color, but it does not have the white coat that these hamsters get during the winter, so I guess we will have to wait and see. We've named her Snowball because she's rounder and plumper than her predecessors. Baby hamsters sure do eat alot!

New Year's Eve Bash 2005

We celebrated welcoming 2006 with hoa-koa (chinese fondue) and burned off the calories with DDR! Yes, everybody had to play at least once! Following the apple and peach drop at midnight, we woke up all the the negihborhood kiddies with fireworks, almost sparking the neighbor's BMW in the process :)
